It is no exaggeration to say that the Battle of Sekigahara on September 15, 1600 is the most famous battle in Japan. I visited Sekigahara where the battle was fought! In honor of the historical drama, “What to do, Sarutanuki!” I’m in a mood. Also, actually… as a revelation, the name “Sarutanuki” came from the fact that Hideyoshi was called “Monkey” and Ieyasu was called “Raccoon dog”, so that’s where the name was taken from. So I went to Sekigahara with a very close feeling of affinity. I was impressed that it is famous even in foreign countries because many foreigners visiting Japan also came to study there.
